This kit is used to convert pre-1969 small block Ford cars over to a kickdown rod if they were built with the original bellcrank/cable arrangement that is no longer available and nearly impossible to find.

On 65-67 Mustangs and Cougars, if the original throttle linkage is still in place, a different rod is needed due to interference issues. Some throttle linkage modifications/changes may be necessary in order to do this conversion. This change could be to install a cable throttle to replace the stock, direct rod linkage.

The carburetor must also have the kickdown lever installed on it. If you don't have that, you must get one from the carb manufacturer. The kit comes with the specially modified lever, the stainless steel kickdown rod and two "E" clips to retain the lever to the rod and to the carburetor kickdown lever. An adjustment procedure is also provided. As with all my rods, the bushings are permanently installed like the OEM's excepting the plastic material used for the bushings is superior to the nylon used by the OEM. Ours are made of Delrin.
