This kickdown rod conversion kit is for a 65-68 Ford Mustang, or any Ford automobile with a 352, 390 or 428 engine and a Cruisomatic or C-6 automatic transmission that does not already have a kickdown rod setup.

The kit replaces thebellcrank/short cable setup whose parts in part or total are impossible to find in good condition. The carburetor must have the kickdown lever installed.  If you don't have the lever, you must get one from the carburetor manufacturer and install it. 2 OR 4 BARREL CARB.

NOTE: If you are using a Holley carburetor and do not have the kickdown rod return spring kit that is needed. Click on this link if you want a spring kit.

PLEASE NOTE WHICH CARBURETOR OPTION YOU WANT WHEN ORDERING.

If you have a high rise intake manifold or a carb spacer thicker than 1/4", the rod must be made custom for which there is an additional $15 surcharge.

The provided transmission kickdown lever will replace the stock transmission kickdown lever (that should be pointing upwards) with one that points towards the 9 o'clock position, allowing connection of the kickdown rod for a PUSH direction. Stock Ford cable kickdowns are designed for a PULL direction only.

The kit includes the kickdown rod, the transmission kickdown lever for the C-6 transmission and the "E" clips to retain the kickdownrod to the carb and transmission levers.

This rod is made of stainless steel and will remain elegant looking its entire life....It will not rust.
